Basketball was invented by a teacher named James Naismith, where the school headmaster asked him to invent a game that students would play on the school Gym in the winter, so he came up with the idea of using a soccer-like ball that students can play but through their hands, and it needs a small space like the indoor gym for the school.
James Naismith used a circular basket instead of the goal, so he hung them opposite the front of the school gymnasium, while this professor who was studying physical education managed to hold the students' first match, so he set rules and laws for this game, and this game spread then over America.
