Why Basketball Players Wear sleeves ?

Why Basketball players wear sleeves ?

Lebron, Carmelo and Russell Westbrook all wear this

it sleeves and today it's quite common to see

But why did players start to wearing it?

the first person to really popularize the sleeves was Allen Iverson

the 76EARS team star supposedly had pain in his elbow, and the sleeve helps alleviate that pain but even after healed he kept wearing the sleeve

Was it for fashion or health benefits?

Iverson was one of the most influential basketball players not just for his skills which were adopted, but also for his fashion sense, and his braids, tattoos & sleeves became iconic.

the sleeve does give health benefits though because the compression increases blood flow so injuries heal faster and it can also help with pain relief and injury prevention some players feel that the sleeve keeps their shooting arm warm

of course some players are superstitious.

they may feel it gives them good luck or they like the way it looks.

Iverson first made it fashionable in the early 2000s when al led the sixers to the final against Kobe and Shaq's Lakers But since then paul George, Carmelo, Lebron, ray Allen, and many other ballers have all worn the sleeve and some players even wear two sleeves one on each arm Like ...Melo or Westbrook.

They've become so popular that you now even see them in the NCAA.

it's become such a trend that even fans now imitation them and we think maybe should leave them to the players' thought.
